Improvements to 0.1 and the Road to 0.2

Just want to let everybody know that the game is still in production.

I had a rough couple months with the holiday and some personal stuff, but I’m now actively getting back into the swing of the game.

Currently, I’m doing a moderately-sized overhaul of 0.1 before moving on to new content in 0.2.

Specifically:

-I’m removing combat from the game. Warren is above all that nonsense anyway! From now on, you’ll be able to dispatch enemies by simply interact with them. You can even skip over the mob enemies in the dark reaches that they currently inhabit. I did this because after some constructive criticism and my own thoughts - it wasn’t adding much to the experience.

-Gating issues. I am aware of the issues of the ability to do things out of order that mess things up - so I’m working to improve these. I think many more actions will happen automatically now.

  • Dialogue - some minor improvements to the dialogue to line up with the above improvements and general changes. Nothing major here.

  • A guidebook. A couple people asked for this. I will do my best with this task, but this may take some doing on my part.

  • Looking into the mouse issues.

  • Improvements to the models. I haven’t touched this one yet, but my plan is to maybe replace some models to reduce clipping. I don’t mean new characters, just new screen grabs. Characters portraits will likely be zoomed out a bit for a better look.

-Other minor improvements - little things like Aurora being party leader after one scene will be fixed (Warren is in charge here!)

Now let’s talk about 0.2.

  • Warren and his team will have a new, warmer island, Ralatia, to explore this time. We’ll meet Aurora’s cousin who is a bit uncouth as well as a blacksmith who’s is just a tall drink-of-water.

  • More history of the realms.

  • Progress of getting that damn sword!

  • Plenty more -ahem- scenes

  • A few more transformations

  • Reference to upcoming characters - perhaps we’ll even see a glimpse of them before the end of content of 0.2 (Honestly, not sure how far we’ll get with this one - but they’ll show up in 0.3 at least).

Apologies for the long time between the releases. It’s hard for me to commit a lot of time to this project as I have a full time job and other obligations (it’s specifically why I don’t have a Patreon or ask for money for this), but it’s coming!

I will try to upload some previews in the next few days.

I liked the idea of your game, I'm glad that you didn't give up development.
